Setting up Ubuntu virtual machine was surprisingly easy on Linux Mint. I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 as the title suggests.
I followed this video and got the virtual machine up and running quite quickly. Reason for using a virtual machine is that it will be easier to for example test setting up development environments. It's easier to setup an environment like it would be my the first time.
